Turkiye 2023 | Bankalar Caddesi - Galata Tower

Merhaba...gunaydin Istanbul...

Hari terakhir di Istanbul, Rabu 18 Oktober 2023...semua aktiviti kena stop sebelum pukul 6 petang sebab dah book airport transfer pukul 6 petang, flight kami pukul 11.20 malam.

Jumpa Bankalar Caddesi, ikut sini saja lah..

dah mula mendaki sikit ke Bankalar Caddesi
hujan renyai², suasana nampak suram je

Bankalar Caddesi
Istanbul's financial district of Empayar Uthmaniyah

Bankalar Caddesi (Banks Street), also known as Voyvoda Caddesi in the historic Galata quarter (present-day Karaköy) of the district of Beyoğlu (Pera) in Istanbul, was the financial centre of the late Ottoman Empire.  During the late Ottoman period, the most important banks, financial institutions and insurance companies had their headquarters here. These institutions included the Ottoman Central Bank (originally established as the Bank-ı Osmanî in 1856, and later reorganised as the Bank-ı Osmanî-i Şahane in 1863) and the Ottoman Stock Exchange (originally established in 1866).

Salah satunya ialah the Bank Hotel, dibawah Mariott Bonvoy.

Bila nampak Mariott Bonvoy, teringat kat blogger Carneyz.

ikut tangga Camondo Stairs

A unique mix of the Neo-Baroque and early Art Nouveau styles, was built in circa 1870–1880.

Kakak saya surrender, dia berpatah balik..saya meneruskan perjalanan..rupanya dekat je, corner kiri dah sampai Galata Tower..

dah sampai

the tower

The Galata Tower, officially the Galata Tower Museum, is an old Genoese tower. Built as a watchtower at the highest point of the (lost) Walls of Galata, the tower is now an exhibition space and museum, and a symbol of Beyoğlu and Istanbul. In 1267 a Genoese colony was established in the Galata part of Constantinople. It was surrounded by walls and the Galata Tower was first built at their highest point as the Christea Turris (Tower of Christ) in Romanesque style in 1348 during an expansion of the colony. At that time, the Galata Tower was the tallest building in the city.

Kawasan di sekitar Galata Tower ialah rumah² kediaman (mostly apartment),   kedai runcit, kedai souvenir, bakery, cafe, hospital pun ada (small one)..
